Duties

The Penn Memory Center (PMC) and Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center (FTDC) seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator – A to join our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. The Penn Memory Center is a National Institute on Aging designated research center recognized for our role in developing and conducting innovative research for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative diseases. The PMC and FTDC both participate in federally funded and industry-supported therapeutic and biomarker studies in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal Degeneration. The research coordinator will lead the execution of a non-pharmacological intervention study to help manage symptoms in persons with cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal Degeneration. This individual will recruit patients and care partners, coordinate study visits and will administer cognitive assessments and health questionnaires for the assigned study. This individual will be responsible for data entry. The research coordinator will serve as a liaison between other research departments and coordinate all aspects of clinical research.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Effective communication, writing skills and problem solving capabilities are necessary. Must have the ability to multitask and to work as part of a team or independently. Knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations preferred. The preferred candidate will have experience with and a comfort level working with persons with older adults and their family.
