Job Description Summary
The Director of Diversity & Inclusion will create, oversee and implement PSOM’s diversity and inclusion strategies in undergraduate medical education, and support faculty leadership in a variety of tasks related to programming and day-to-day operations.
Manage, develop, and implement programming and activities for the Program for Diversity and Inclusion (PDI). Develop and administer budget for PDI.
Advocate, guide and support medical students for academic and emotional needs.
Manage and support student-led cultural affinity groups. Manage monthly committee meetings and events. Market and assess programming for effectiveness. Assist students during leadership transitions, and support budget processes and management. Ensure action items are implemented. Communicate outcomes to all appropriate constituents.
Manage and develop wellness programs for students. Manage monthly committee meetings and events. Market and assess all programs for effectiveness. Assist students during leadership transitions, and support budget processes and management. Ensure action items are implemented. Communicate outcomes to all appropriate constituents.
Facilitate student-led participation in community outreach programs. Manage monthly committee meetings and events. Develop new programs and relationships to ensure fulfillment of the community outreach mission for the Academic Programs Office. Implement training program for students involved in outreach programs. Support budget processes. Communicate outcomes to all appropriate constituents.
Direct and manage recruitment programming for students underrepresented in medicine.
Manage the high school pipeline programs (Educational Pipeline and Summer Mentorship Programs) each year. Assess programs for effectiveness. Manage and track budget/spending. Recruit and hire student workers each year.
Represent PDI as needed at external meetings. Prepare annual reports for external and internal agencies. Develop communication methods to keep all PSOM constituents aware of the PDI's work. Communicate with internal and external constituents.
Manage monthly Diversity and Inclusion student committee and faculty meetings. Ensure action items are implemented. Communicate outcomes and updates to all appropriate constituents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
