The Biobehavioral Science Department (BHS) is seeking a candidate for a Practice Assistant Professor. This individual will be a non-tenured track member of the department who will serve as the Program Director for the Nurse Anesthesia-Doctor of Nursing Practice Program in the School of Nursing at the University. This individual will work to continue to develop and evaluate the Nurse Anesthesia Program, serve as not only faculty mentor to lecturer faculty within the program, but also as a student mentor. This individual is responsible for the teaching content area for the Nurse Anesthesia program, works closely with the Admissions department regarding admissions criteria for the program, and serves not only as graduate student advisor, but also as undergraduate student advisor for students within the School of Nursing. The Director will work in partnership with other programs within the School of Nursing and outside of the School to develop a more collaborative interprofessional, collegial practice for students and faculty. This individual will also oversee simulation activities for the program which include interprofessional collaboration with surgical specialties from within the health system.
