University of Pennsylvania Research Associate Position - Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Research Associate positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of biochemistry, particularly as it relates to the field of lipid metabolism and cardiovascular disease, as well as some experience in bioinformatics/data mining. Postdoctoral experience (3-5 years) is required. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include providing intellectual and technical expertise in support of research projects, project development and management, supervision of students and laboratory research staff, writing of grants proposals, as well as presentation of research at relevant scientific meetings.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to exercise and further develop laboratory and computational skills in the field of genetic regulation of lipid metabolism. This position will be funded by a sponsored research program.
