University of Pennsylvania Research Associate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of human disaggregase biology and TDP-43 bait RNA technology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include designing and carrying out experiments in the field of biochemistry and/or molecular biology, presenting findings at group meetings and conferences, helping advise students with day-to-day experimental questions and methods, assisting PI in grant and paper writing, and maintaining laboratory stocks.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literature and prepare manuscripts and grant preparations, and present research findings in national and international meetings.
