University of Pennsylvania Research Associate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of molecular biology, fluorescence microscopy, CRISPR-based cell engineering, and advanced cell biology experimentation. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include Cell biological studies of structure/function relationships with molecular components involved in chromosome inheritance, developing collaborative and independent research programs related to chromosome inheritance and DNA damage detection, coordinating NIH-funded efforts with local and international collaborators, participation in writing grants and manuscripts.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop collaborative and independent research programs related to chromosome inheritance and DNA damage detection, co-supervision of students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators, and participation in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
