Statistics Practice Track Faculty
The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, one of 12 Schools in a highly-ranked institution, is dedicated to the integration of interdisciplinary research, education, and practice.
The School of Nursing seeks a master teacher to lead the statistics sequence of courses for the PhD program with overall responsibility for the data analytic components of the curriculum. The candidate will also provide consultation and supervision on statistical and methodological issues to students across the PhD curriculum as they prepare their analytic approach, determine sample size, conduct analyses, interpret results, and disseminate the findings of dissertation studies. The candidate will provide leadership in the development and teaching of statistical and methods content across programs (undergraduate, masters, DNP and PhD).
The candidate should have experience with a broad array of standard and advanced methodologies, design approaches, and statistical analyses suitable for research in clinical healthcare, including the use of large datasets, as well as social and behavioral science research. The role requires that the candidate has the ability to work and provide support across a range of statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS). The candidate should be able to work with faculty and students possessing a range of prior statistics education and experience including students with limited prior experience.
We invite individuals with a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field to apply to the associated faculty (practice tracks). Academic teaching experience is required and should meet minimum qualifications for Practice Assistant Professor of Nursing: • Demonstrates high-quality teaching via peer review and student evaluations. • Uses a range of teaching and evaluation methods • Demonstrates the ability to develop effective courses in their area of expertise. • Is a recognized content expert in nursing or related sciences. • Demonstrates the ability to operationally lead a course. • Has a beginning record of publications and local presentations in his/her content area.
